Hi all, had a Barrons Lemon Myrtle witbier last night. It had a strong lemon after taste, as the label suggested, thought it was ok for a hot summers day. I might try and get the lemon taste in a k&k beer, then my wife might drink it. Geoff :icon_chickcheers:

I like it too, and no, for some reason I don't think she will.

If she doesn't like beer she won't like it however you try to tinker with it.

Back to getting the lemon myrtle flavour into it, I'd suggest treating it the same as a late hop infusion by dropping it in a mug of hot water and letting it sit for 10 minutes then straining it into your wort.

If you find that the flavour is too subdued then do the same thing but put the leaves into the wort as well.

I have no idea what quantity you'd need, I wouldn't imagine it'd be much, maybe a teabag's worth?

if the lemon flavours not enough you could also throw in some glacier hops. they give a nice subtle lemon flavour thats great for light cerveza style lagers.

dont forget to post the recipe if the results are good!

I got some of this in a tasting pack. I let my missus have a sip and she nicked the rest. I'm workign on a clone as well (AG).

Cheers

We've been drinking this on tap out at the Royston pub for a while now - I like it a lot as a refresher... reminds me of lemonade icypoles... ah - the good ole days ! :)

try chucking a handfull of finlly sliced kaffir lime leaves into the fermenter, it goes well in a mexican cervaza. My friend has tried some expirements with simply adding a cup of lemon juice to the fermenter and has made a quite nice quaffing beer with that and a Coopers canadian blonde kit.
