Ball Lock keg Poppet valves

Hi guys
Has anyone had any issues using universal poppet valves with real cornelius disconnects?
the black one seems not to depress the poppet valve enough to dispense beer.
i have tried two different poppets from kk but no luck, however the kk disconnects work

I bought one and fitted it to a pressure garden sprayer to make a beer line cleaner and it seems to work OK with my quick connects which are not Chinese.
