Hi guys, some of you might remember me from about 6 years ago. Gave brewing away for 6 years to concentrate on study, but I'm planning on getting back into the game. I'm doing a little better for myself these days so instead of badly cobbling together cheap esky parts I think I'll by a grainfather this time and save myself some time and effort.

Looks like craftbrewer is still going strong and hasn't changed much at all over the years. I imagine that is still the go-to place for hops and grain? Is Ross still running things or has he passed it all on to his son now?

Anyway, you'll probably see a few post from me around opinions on some recipes I have been developing and what sort of treatments people apply to Brisbane water. Last time I brewed the dam was down to about 10% so the water was really hard and high PH, has it changed now with all the rain?

6 yrs !. I do remember you, mind you if your your pic is the same you haven't aged.
If so a 6 yr hiatus from brewing has done you well.

Craftbrewer is my main choice when I need grains, yeast, and other random ****. I got my Crown Urn and other bits and pieces to start BIAB from there too, along with some handy advice for my first batch. Haven't looked back since. As far as I know Ross still runs it, he's usually there when I drop in. I source hops online because they're way cheaper. Haven't been disappointed with the quality so far there.

No affiliation yadda yadda, just a happy customer :)

Just about to mash in for my 4th brew in the last 2 weeks. Racked the first brew this afternoon and decided to fill up one of my 6 litre tap-a-keg, charge it up with co2 and have a taste. still needs to cool down and carb up a bit but the sample tastes pretty good. young as buggery but ah well :)

yep Ross is still about, spoke with him a week or so back chasing some rare and obsolete bits, still one of the best guys to hit up for info when you've come up empty else where.
