Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone has been to the Annual Beer festival put on by the Australian Heritage Hotel at the Rocks, Sydney.

I will be going for the first time on the 29/10. Any recommendations on whose beer I should sample first?

I've been for the last couple of years. I think it's pretty good.
All depends on who's exhibiting.
Try as many as you can. And try stuff you'd not normally try, you might be surprised.

I never really liked dark beers, but I tried a White Rabbit Dark Ale at the festival the firsttime I went and as it was so good I'll now try pretty much anything.

Been a couple of times. It's great... but...

Get there early, or you'll be in line for hours... and then have to fight massive crowds to get to the front of any of the lines for any of the exhibitors. Absolutely no chance of getting a seat, let alone a table, after midday.

By 2pm the place will be P A C K E D, and it becomes significantly less fun. Having to elbow your way through a crowd 5 or 6 deep to get a sample of beer makes it taste less good.

The Saturday I went it was a little rainy which kept the crowds away.

I'll be there 29th from lunch time. Should be able to try a lot of the more interesting beers before the masses arrive.

and Harts and the Lord Nelson aint too far away if the crowds do get a bit much.... !!
