I knew there was something else to do...

Could someone please post a hydrometer or refractometer reading of normal run of the mill apple juice (not mixed or labelled "drink") please?

Same here.

There is a good show on TBN about cider and the guy recommended that its not worth taking anything below 13 P. This is a pilot batch for me so we'll see how it goes.

i'm surprised though. it must be the extra attenuation that knocks you around a bit then :)
 
Yep, mine came in at 6%. It is very dry and will probably end up adding some juice to the glass to sweeten it back up.
 
i'm gonna keep tasting it, then gas and serve with some residual sugar
maybe around 1.010
should be about 5%
it's at 1.030 now
swmbo asked if it had pear in it but it's the yeast
bloody smooth but it's also chugging along at about 16C
