The Brewers Association Export Development Program (or EDP) announced that they will be facilitating the entry of 19 craft brewers into the the Australian International Beer Awards (AIBA)

See linky for more.

[NB. I searched the forums to see if this news had been covered yet, but couldn't find any reference. Hope some of you can get to take advantage of this. I believe Scotty (aka ///) weasels his way into the event for a snort every year. Lucky sod.]

Looks like a few more beers to sample at the beertopia event this year

Good for them and the people going to the show.

Now, if somebody's going to enter a commercial beer comp in a country shouldn't that mean that that beer should be available in that country? Most of those breweries don't have product available, the only American craft brew i can think of that is available here is SNPA and that is mega-expensive.

I take offence to that Steve, its more like every sneaks in on my passes! There was some silly rule that allowed us up to 5 company passes last year, and i dont quite know where they all got to in the end and we had a raft of new employees....

Unfortunately theres no festival this year, just the Award Dinner. Thats a right buggar, as the festival was well done last year.

Over the last couple of years the Oregon based brewers have done extremly well, the Pelican Pub brewery beer was fantastic.

No Festival

Scotty I was looking forward to giving you a fair few of my tickets for the real ale again......

Can we blame the No Fest on R.A.S <_< ??????

I guess its the RAS - i think it came down to making money back for holding the event, but dunno. I wont travel down for just the $175 a ticket awards dinner - dont think many West Aussies will comeacross as well.

Was looking forward to 3 days of Souvlaki's as the core ingredient to my diet, spending time at the Lambs Go Bar and reminding an unsuspecting AFL ref just what sort of lady his mother was... and making jokes about Simon's squint...

Ohh well,

Scotty
