Hi all,

So I am in the next few weeks set to move to Mackay for work, I have currently been spoilt living in Brisbane.

What is the home brewing scene like in Mackay?

I know there is a brew for you place, but how is everyone getting their grain. I'm guessing from the site sponsors? Along with yeast and hops etc?

It would be great to know a few things before I move up, as I'll have time to plan before bringing my brew rig up which wont happen for the first few months unfortunately.

Cheers

Unfortunately we are pretty scarce up this way. 1 lhb in town, a few often out of date tins of overpriced goop is the best they can do. I only know of 2 other ag brewers here. Get my ingredients shipped from National Home Brew. Top service and range but shipping is a bit of a pain in the back pocket. There are 4 of us looking to start a few brew related get togethers and maybe a club down the track if we can . Most of us know each other but haven't all got together in the same place yet. Anyway mate pm me when you get here if your interested in a chat and a few beers.

Cheers.

Forgot about Goanna brewing. It's one of those u brew setups. Apparently they sell yeast, hops and keg gear but not grain.
