I have heard alcoholics cant admit they have a drinking problem.
I know I have a problem, thus end the lesson grasshopper.

Sorry, my fault, wrong section, wrong question, wrong forumn.
Just trying to figure out weather im as bad as I think I am or just normal out in the wide world.
I better go log on to AA now.
Hang on I just need another drink first.

yes, thats it.

your question might be suitable in a destillery-forum, but we are HOMEBREWERS....

where is my beer.... :icon_cheers:

What if you can't stop thinking about beer but only taste for educational reasons?

What does that make me??

So you're claiming your trip to Germany as 'Study expenses' on this years tax ? :D

Studious. Intellectual. Scholarly.

drag....if the person saying you are an alcoholic sees you opening a litre bottle of vodka at 6.00am, finishing that and stealing money to buy another at lunch time and then again when that one is finished then yes you are an alcoholic. My mate died after a few years of doing this from alcohol related illnesses. Mate, you and the person calling you an alcy are worrying too much....go and grab yerself another beer.
Cheers
Steve

I think your looking for a AA forum.
But I can save everyone on this site a lot of time and say that yes we all love a beer and like making them even more.
And yes you may well be as bad as you think you are and I would point you towards an AA site, as this site is full of craft brewers whos inerests lie in creating fine beers.
But thats just my opinion.

hmm I cant remember anyone making a post saying "i cant seem to brew enough beer because i drink it too fast, whats the quickest way i can brew ****** tasting beer with lots of alc in it?"

oh thats right because AHB members are interested in crafting beer not making as much of it as possible in the shortest period of time so they can get pissed. they are out to brew great tasting beer that it hard to find from commercially brands.

Im going to assume you made the post with the best of intentions (ie a bit of toungue in cheek). if you were seriously worried then you shouldnt be looking for help on a brewing website you would be better off getting professional advice. its sort of like going into a TAB and asking a bunch of gamblers their advice on gambling addictions.

Last time i checked this was a forum about brewing beer... the hobby, not the consuming. I suppose as a group brewers probably are solid consumers, but alcoholism certainly isn't the reason I started brewing..

On that thought, reckon a couple of pale ales are in order

:p +1

back to brewing folks......... i just wasted 2 minuites of my life reading this ****.

We are about brewing nice beers, not about abusing ourselves and encouraging dangerous drinking levels

Mods............. hit the delete button please.

cheers

Geez, there's one of these threads every 3 weeks. Maybe we should start up a support sub-forum for this topic?

As previously stated, it's about the brewing, enjoyment, and sharing of our beers... okay, and more than occasional over indulging in it.
Now excuse me, my daughter wants me to cheers milkbottle to pint glass.

Just needed to put my two cents worth in. An alcohlic is a person who cannot control their urge to drink alcohol. The symptoms have been described in this thread already so ..... Unusual thread but I think that it is fine to reflect upon our drinking habits wether it is prompted or not :) . I am not an alcoholic I love beer in moderation and a wine on occasion and I have even been known to consume bourbon :p , but I dont drink everyday and have been without a drink for months on end. I enjoy making and drinking beer so on Saturday night have a beer and relax... However if you need one on Monday morning before work.... you know go and get some help.
