Put this down yesterday - I used my immerison chiller for the first time - WOW. I got it from boiling to 28 in about 15 minutes.

It started bubbling away about 1 hour after I pitched the yeast - the smell is awesome

How good does Crystal smell when boiling...... :icon_chickcheers:

That's what you need a shed for. Then when you're in the bad books and banished to the shed, you can brew! :p

yer but thats where the project car is, ill just build another shed when the time comes. can never have to many sheds ^_^

:icon_offtopic: My wife said either the beer brewing goes or she will.

I miss her cleaning and cooking, but .... :icon_chickcheers:

I don't think so really. It's 43 IBUs, but that won't be that bitter for a 1065 beer. :icon_cheers:

lol, helps to look at the batch size, not just the ingredients

Sounds great, add a few grams of Cascade as dry hop during ferment would give it some AWSOME aroma too!

I must be missing something - according to Beersmith an American Ale, should have an IBU of around that mark, now Beer smith works out the IBU based on hop additions size and volume size

Why would this is overly bitter if beersmith says it should be this bitter?

What am I missing here :icon_drool2:

Got 20Grams of Cascade all ready for that.

I ran my eyes across the IBUs from the hops, and ran past the grain masses, I thought 3kg of grain for a standard batch size of 23L would give an OG ~ 1.030, and that is nowhere near enough for 45IBU. The problem is I didn't see the correct batch size, which now makes complete sense and is fine.
