Got a new pin lock keg which I filling and carbed over night. I've depressurised from carbing pressure and attached Pluto gun but after using the gun beer seems to be coming out of the top of the liquid post despite the Pluto still being attached. Presumably this is due to a pressure...
I'm running Andale florytes on my keezer with about 2m of line from keg to tap. Line is coiled and sits low in the freezer, but I run a fan anyway so stratification shouldn't be an issue.
Anyway, ever since I've had the taps, every time I use the taps after having left then say a couple of...
I've got Janet's on tap at the moment. Basically followed the electric brewery recipe, although the dry hop was a bit random. I didn't find it that bitter initially but it was quite chocolatey (then again I'd never used choc malt before so wasn't sure what to expect). With the chocolate and the...
I was going to knock out a Belgian wit this week. Never done one before. Was going to add coriander seeds and orange peel as late additions - 10 min according to the recipe. Do I need to make a time adjustment if no chilling in a cube?
I've been trying to limit my drinking during the week, so turned the keezer off. I've got a couple of kegs on at the moment sitting at 16 degrees. Any issues associated with leaving the kegs at this temp and then chilling for a beer on Friday?
Two tap keezer is just about done. I've got a nice IPA in the cube ready to go and was thinking about what I should pair this with. Probably needs to be something that uses an ale yeast as I use the keezer as a fermentation chamber and will do both at the same time. Was thinking a kolsch but...
Cheers for that. Never used oats before so had no idea.
On the hops, I've never used sterling or summit, but will probably bitterm with a mix of mt hood and chinook to say 5ibu as a fwh and build a mix of cascade, chinook, simcoe and mt hood to say 20ibu as additions each 5mins from 15mins to...
Saw this beer launched the other day.

Grist sounds interesting for a low ABV beer. Should have a decent mouth feel. Might give it a crack. What do you think on %s and substitutions?

I've finally got round to making a collar for my keezer. I'm in the process of staining it with some bond all jarrah stain and varnish. I'm the first to admit I hate painting, but I've got to say that 2 coats in it looks like crap compared to others I've seen on here. Brush marks, uneven stain...
So checked gravity again last night and it's stalled. I didn't use a starter so maybe that's the issue. Anyway, I'm going to chuck some us05 on it to get it to FG.
Just took a gravity read and it's at 1.026 so only 10 points away from FG.The whole no krausen thing has thrown me. I''ll give the fermenter a swirl and see where it ends up in a couple of days.
I put down a OG 1.061 robust porter with a vial of WLP005 on Sunday. Fementation kicked up in less than 24 hours and continued reasonably robustly (based on airlock activity) for maybe 48 hours, but with no krausen. Activity had slowed considerably by this morning so I bumped the temp from 18 to...
I'm looking at doing a vanilla choc porter. Lot of the recipes seem to call for black malt which I can't get. Would roasted barley sub ( yeah I know there'll be a colour difference). Also, what happens if you mash the dark malts (ie the black) at the start rather than in the last 10 minutes as...
