    Foam Coming Out Of Airlock

Just keep an eye on the airlock and top up with some water if needed. I am however surprised you are getting such foaming from a kit yeast but I never made too many kits before moving to AG. Sounds like your having fun :)

    Yeast Not Working

Mate with a crack in the lid you may not see any airlock activity. Look for krausen on top of the beer (a thick white head). Wouldn't pitch another yeast, wait another 24 hours and see if a white head forms on the top of your beer and remember to use your hydrometer to check when the beer is...

    Sparging With Hot Tap Water

I assume you fill your hot liqour tun from the tap so i dont see why it makes a difference other than your temps may not be quite right.

    Herms System

I hear what the guys are saying about the consistency and honestly if i had the money to burn i would purchase a herms system as well but in saying that I hit a 75 - 80 percent efficiency in an esky and have no problems hitting a mash temp within a degree. Mashing in steps though would be a...

    Malty Mess

Its great he sent out another malt. It seems everyday the quality of things we buy lack the finishing touches and quality and that goes for more than homebrew. With things that are mass produced quality isn't as good but the price is cheaper. It is disappointing purchasing something new that...

    Freezer For Kegerator

Mate check out the good guys if you have one near you. I have recently purchased a fridge, chest freezer, microwave, vacuum, washing machine and all prices were far better than any others around. When i asked why they were so much cheaper i was told that they have scouts that go around to the...

    When To Add Yeast

If your tempreture controll device is reading 30+ personally i would wait for it to chill down a few degrees to around the 26's pitch and continue to chill to fermentation temp. Adding some chilled water is a good idea and i would recommend a water filter if your not using one. No need to stir...

    Storing Bottles In Your Fridge

Dont tend to have any problems with clarity to my mind. After fermentation i rack to my secondary with gelatine and chill at 0 - 2 degrees for a week, seems to do the trick :)

    Storing Bottles In Your Fridge

I sit mine on there side and lay them on top of one another. No risk of them falling over as long as you pick from the top :P

Ahhh, The Dark Side Is Sooo Near..

    Confusion About Lagering

Lift the temp to about 18 degrees on the last stages of fermentation. Genereally in the last 24-48 hours of fermetation. Could be now, could be left a little longer comes down to experience). As i understand this allows the yeast to eat up the diacetyl and stop producing it. Someone else can...

    First Brew, Taste Test Tonight!

Yeah mate, i brought mine from ross at craft brewer and is easy enough to set up and very easy to use. It involves chopping up an extension lead and wiring it in but it comes with instructions and is quite easy to do. Fresh ingredients, good water and a good yeast will allow you to make great...

    First Brew, Taste Test Tonight!

Mate you want to keep your ales at 18 - 20. For your next brew try and set your fermenter up in an old fridge using a temp mate (controlls the tempreture on your fridge) or if you have an old fridge that doesn't work try some frozen water in coke bottles around the fermenter. Will improve your...
