    dose liquid malt add any better taste to the brew rather than the dried malt (light,amber,wheat) the reason i am asking is that DME is more cost efficient, and LME is hard to come by sometimes.

    I forgot to add i have a drain plug on my esky and was planing to drain via a hose to my 50L kettle could that be a plan. thanks for the info.

    using my esky can i use a big enough bag to fit the esky to mash in instead of fitting a manifold, like the BIAB but wanting to sparge. cheers

    Hi all, i just finnished a keg of my first DrSmurto's golden ale brew, it would have to be one of the best kit beer i have made it was a winner at my house i would recommend anyone who hasn't tried it to put one down, i will be putting another down soon. cheers.

    Don't worry about it taking to 8 days, mine ferments at about 20 deg for 8 to 10 days and i do hydro reading on the 8th and then on the 10th day and readings should be the same (e.g 1010) which is my routine and works fine for me, so follow the advice of the other guys and get a hydrometer it...

    try the Nottingham if you want but it would be much nicer with the lager yeast that comes with it which is meant to be a very good yeats by the way i used pearl hops with my kit, keep us up to date on how you go cheers benno

    I agree its morgans cortes cerveza Chairman's Selection, i have brewed this before very easy drinking in the summer already has the lime flavour in it, but the yeast that comes with it is a lager yeast

    I 2nd that, the golden ale is a popular beer at my place i recommend making it if you are into this style of beer, it is one of my favourites.

    in the bottle for about 6 weeks, I went by the can recipe. what I find is it is a little sweet and not bitter enough to match the original CSA. I found that as well, but tastes completly different again (not so sweet) in the keg has anyone else experienced this. cheers benno

    my mate does the same, he has heaps of bottled beers in the shed under his work bench, some have been there for over 12 months and nothing wrong with the, we has some sparkling ale's saturday night it was like mothers milk he said it had been aged for about 14 months.
