    Woodfordes Wherry

I'm in Europe so can buy them locally here - and the reviews I have read on the Kit's are also giving rave reviews - I thought they were also available in Aus ???? Maybe not ??? We can get Cooper's goo here also - it costs around AUD 22 per can so almost double what you pay in Australia. We...

    Woodfordes Wherry

Anyone tried any of the Woodfordes range? I am thinking of trying the Woodfordes Wherry. I see it has previously been awarded Supreme Champion Beer of Britain (Bronze) 2005 & Supreme Champion Beer of Britain (Gold) 1996 + numerous Champion Bitter of Britain awards. It is a 3kg all malt kit -...

Are We A Nation Of Beer Snobs?

In defence of the mega-swill (shock, horror), I have been known to drink a box of VB/Draught/Melb Bitter whatever on fishing or yabbying trips when the mercury is over 40. It does serve its purpose served ice cold as a thirst quenching alcohol provider. Do I choose to drink one at home on a...

    Robbed - The Bastards...

Sorry to hear mate. Shit feeling I know. When I finished uni a few years ago I packed all my belongings up into the car and drove up to my parents for a visit before heading overseas for a hol. Got there pretty late and thought stuff it I will just have a few beers with the old man and unpack...

    Muntons Old Conkerwood Black Ale

Not bad for a little over a week in the bottle. Nice and smooth with good bittering. Good head retention and good lacing. Guess it will only get better !!!

    Muntons Old Conkerwood Black Ale

Couldn't help myself and tried a long neck last night. Easily the best kit I have ever put down - and that is after a little over a week in the bottle. Really smooth drinking, nice hop balance and good creamy lacing. Very suprised at how nice it was. Nursing a huge hangover today as following...

    My Neighbour Has Chickens

No probs ...... don't be concerned if it goes rotten as they will dig it into the ground. Hope you are getting some eggs in return - or at least the rights to dig worms in the chook house for your fishing trips !!! Cheers

    Muntons Old Conkerwood Black Ale

Took off like a rocket ...... had about 8 inches of Krausen in the fermentor. Despite being in the brew fridge 36 hours at 16c the temp has remained closer to 20c ....... going to be a quick ferment. Guessing the Brewferm lager yeast in the yeast cake was doing most of the work and given the...

    3 Yeast Brew ......

I mentioned this in another thread (http://www.aussiehomebrewer.com/forum/inde...showtopic=58554) where after bottling a brew late last night I decided it would be a good idea to put down a new brew straight onto the yeast cake. Had plenty of yeasts laying around so in addition pitched 2 other...

    Muntons Old Conkerwood Black Ale

Bottled this last night - tasted really good out of the fermenter but also still really cloudy. Had a leaking bottle at the end so whacked it in the freezer for 10 mins and drank it flat and it was pretty damn acceptable. Final FG was 1.011 which from reading other reviews is in the ballpark...

    Muntons Old Conkerwood Black Ale

Just put this down with an extra 200g LDM and a Brewferm Lager Yeast. Will be brewed around 12c in the brew fridge. Had read a couple of posts where people had complained about stuck fermentations with the packet yeast so thought I would make a big brewferm starter and pitch slightly warmer...
