    Need help buying taps

You will need four of these for the font: https://keg-king.com.au/kinglok-female-x-3-4-male-font-adaptor.html And, one of these for each tap (unless you get floryte or da type taps): https://keg-king.com.au/kinglok-male-x-tap-shank-adaptor.html They come in andale, lancer or keg king varieties...

    Need help buying taps

Brewgasm is right. You'll first need some snaplok/taplok/fatlok/kinglok type adaptors for the font. You then need male snaplok adaptors for the taps. If you bought the font off eBay the same seller is probably selling them separately.

    Let's Freeze Some Yeast

I'd just relax and not worry too much about it Tony. If they were still cool they should be fine. Not ideal, but fine. Mine have always been kept in modern fridge/freezers with defrost cycles that probably push the vials close to thawing. I also had a full fridge blowout about 9 months ago...

Chill then whirlpool or whirlpool then chill?

Using a BM20 and immersion chiller. I normally cool a little bit, hopstand, chill with the pump on, then whirlpool and let stand for about 20mins. I got really excited about all the stainless gear on the BAC brewing website so bought one of these: Whirlpool shovel. It works as advertised, but at...

    Let's Freeze Some Yeast

Moving house soon so was cleaning out the freezer and came across the frozen yeast bank. I've been enjoying the increasing range of dried yeasts for the last couple years so I'd almost forgotten about it. The oldest vial I had was WLP800 at about 3.5 years old. I decided to spin it up and see...

How to dispose of spent grains?

    Beer Line - what diameter?

Second this! This line is strong and very flexible, makes neat and tight coils. I prefer john guest fitting for the beer side, especially when re-balancing. Still feel safer locking up my gas lines with barbs and clamps though.

    Fitting Andale taps to keezer

    What hops should I use?

Simcoe/Mosaic gets my vote. These 2 complement each other perfectly with one being piney/resiney and the other fruity. I use this combo in my house IPA. The only one on your list I'd stay away from for dry hopping is Columbus, I always get overpowering onion flavors when using it anytime later...

What's the weirdest brewing set up you have seen?

hmmm... necro pocket post. Not sure how that happened.

    Chiller - Plate v Counterflow

I've got all three, and pretty much exclusively use the ic or no chill. Plate chiller: works as advertised with good efficiency, but a pain to clean and sanitise. Adds an extra 30mins or so to your brew day for cleanup. To clean it properly you'll also probably need a pump, so more money...I'll...

    Should we cull sharks

If there is no other sensible solution then... Yes. Is the alternative acceptable to you?

    Should we cull sharks

Completely agree. But there is only a certain amount of risk that is acceptable without mitigation. And when that risk jumps from remote or very unlikely to probable, it's time to start asking questions Hardly hyperbole, just statistics. If I said that 'you cant even go into the water these...

    Should we cull sharks

Wow...can't believe the tone of this thread. 12 attacks have occurred in NSW so far this year, the latest was yesterday where a 65 yo man was attacked by a Great White. There were 3 attacks last year. Hysteria...? No. Just people concerned at a 400% increase in probability of death or...

    3/8BSP shank, Cooler Coupler

Yes. There's a spring loaded check valve in the snap lock.

    3/8BSP shank, Cooler Coupler

I upgraded to snap-lock shanks earlier in the year. Wish I just bought them from the get-go. Great quality, and makes cleaning your taps much more convenient. The olive insertion tool is a worth while purchase as well for rigging up the couplings (or so I decided after stabbing myself in the...
