I've never bottled inside so i don't have a point of comparison.

I have had only 1 infection from bottling, but that is because i found out the bottles were disgusting!! But what about skunking?? surely it being in reasonably direct sunlight can not be good for the brew.

I have a 5 Litre flask with a 2.8cm stir bar. Its way too small but i reckon it will be perfect for a 2 litre flask. I'd say go with 1cm per litre.
