    TUBS kit from OzBrew

I used them all the time when I lived in Darwin. I liked them. Easy to use and tasted good.

Thanks all for the suggestions and ideas.

    No lift brewing

Thanks. I understand what you were saying. I still want to get it closer so I only have to run 5m of hose instead of 10 or 15m. Last time I bought a meter of the hose it cost a bloody fortune. I will have a tap at the fill end like you suggested.

    No lift brewing

I'm thinking this may be the way to go for the short term until I fully recover and get everything set up.

    No lift brewing

The only reason I want to move it is to get the fermenters closer to a tap to fill using a hose from the laundry and, when I move into all grain, fill with water and move to a safer area to light up the gas burner. We all know what it's like carrying a lot of weight in front of you doing that...

    No lift brewing

Funny you should post this. While I was laying on the couch after surgery I was on AppleTV looking at podcasts and came across this channel :)

    No lift brewing

At the moment I am kit brewing but hoping to move into all grain soon. I need to move the fermenter closer to the internal garage door (to fill) which is close to the laundry where i'm planning to run a hose from, or the alternative is a garden house from outside. there is a step from the garage...

    No lift brewing

Hello fellow brewers. I recently (Aug) had hernia repair surgery done and as such have not been able to brew. I want to get back into it soon but I also want to avoid lifting where I can. I am thinking of a trolley set up where I can wheel the fermenters around to a water filling point and...

    Water quality

Thanks everyone for the feedback. This is only a temporary fix until I'm fully healed and can lift again. I asked about the garden hose only because of the distance from the tap to where the fermenter will be in the garage. I see some have tried it with little to no problems. I also have a...

    Water quality

Hello fellow brewers. I have recently had surgery and can't lift weight therefore lugging around full fermentors is out of the question, so having everything in place before starting is essential. My enquiry is, has anyone filled the fermentor using the garden hose? If I run water through to...

    Starting back...What to brew?

I was going to start my brewing again a few days ago but that stupid little back to work thing got in the way  I have decided to try the toucan, I have the Canadian blonde and the heritage lager. I haven't done a toucan before so unless anyone thinks this might be a bad combination i'm...

    Starting back...What to brew?

I have no idea. For some reason ( 3 times) one whole side of the briquets went out! All the vents were open and they had turned that nice light browny/white colour. I'd put the meat in, come back later and every one of them on one side had gone out...completely turned black, same side every...

    Starting back...What to brew?

Tomorrow i'm starting back into my brewing after an extended period of low brewing activity and bad luck. I have recently moved interstate from Sydney to Victoria. Sydney people, please don't take this as a dig at your city but, in the two years I was there I had the worst brewing (and Weber)...

    Cleaning Your Brewing Equipment

I keep hearing good things about Starsan. Im off the the HBS today...I might have to get some to give it a go. I haven't had much luck with my brewing in the recent past. I've had batches go off or just taste bad. Maybe this will help :)

    Yoour Bottle Of Choice

I use plastic bottles for one simple reason....I'm a bit of a kluts and will most likely at some stage knock over a bottle which will start a domino effect. I did that once with glass bottles and the aftermath was smashed glass everywhere

    Coles Home Brew

Hi Guys...This may have already been mentioned somwhere else, i have'nt been on for a while but i believe Coles are withdrawing there stocks of Coopers so you will no longer be able to buy it at Coles. Don't quote me on this, i don't have all the facts. This is probably why all the prices are so...

    Fermentor - I Think I Did A Bad Thing......

Hi Guys... I'm reading about the napisan and thinking of giving it a go. I may be a bit paranoid but is there any danger to using it. I know you will probably say "as long as you rinse it out it's ok " but how much chemical is in it or is it more of a natural product?

    Oz Brew Tubs Packs

After my last post i was cleaning up and moving things around and found a packet of yeast i have actually bought from the OZbrew store. The label says "Yeast Y1 " I tried looking it up an was confused by a whole lot of chemistry looking articles :) Maybe some one else can explain for simple folk...

    Oz Brew Tubs Packs

I don't know what yeast they use but the company line is that it's a "special" yeast for warmer climates up here. As for the price it is because you are buying a complete kit. It come with the extract, yeast, brewing sugars and a hops bag.
