Ideas for a leftover Coopers Draught kit?

I'd say you've got enough hops for two brews. So why not go 15g at 20 minutes 15g at 10 minutes 20g dry hopped on day 4

Pimping a Coopers Kit with a Partial Mash

Pimping a Coopers Kit with a Partial Mash

I too was inspired by this post. I had put together one partial using LME and had recently put down my first Lager basically a kits and bits. So I decided to Pimp the Coopers European Lager kit. I went with 2.3 kg of Pilsner and 200g of Carapils, the Coopers can and some Saflager W-23/70. I have...

    Im Hooked!

What about your wife? She's got a honey do list, but top of my list is to get this motor connected to the grain mill. Then I should have some spare time. :icon_cheers:

    Im Hooked!

Hey Alex I am planning to upgrade the taps one day when I stop buying gran mills and servo motors. The taps are OK, they tend to stick if you go for a while without pouring a beer and sometimes the flow is a bit irregular, but most of the time they are OK. I've been using them, the Kegerator...

    Hops and bittering, kit beers

That is a small boil for sure. Looks like a 3 litre boils is your limit, basically need to use more hops. IanH's spread sheet has a hop utilisation factor and I'd look at using that if I were you.

    Im Hooked!

Mine is a Keg King from Brew by You in Moonah. I must have too much European blood cause mine is set at 5oC, and I reckon its plenty cold enough for a Lager or an Ale. I've got one of each on tap at the Mo, an OKtoberfest and an IPA.

That's go to be one the best starts to home brewing that I've seen

Looking for K&K or Partial Saison Recipe

Hey Martin I have been meaning to try that kit for a fair while now. I might give your recipe a go when mine's done, re-pitching the 3726.

Looking for K&K or Partial Saison Recipe

I've laid down a partial last weekend, will test SG and taste tomorrow. I tried to mod a recipe from the spring homebrewer magazine Thomas Coopers Pilsner can 3.2 kg Joe White Pilsner 25g EKG @ 10 mins 25g Styrian @ 1 min Wyeast 3726PC Fermented at 23oC I hope its a good one.

    Substitute

Hey DS Rehydrate the BRY-97 as Yob suggests. This is the only yeast I have rehydrated, I've heard a lot of people have experienced slow starts with this one, mine behaved the same as others I've used.

    Coopers Draught

I don't think there's any need to be throwing that much yeast at these brews. Not that you are risking a massive over pitch just that you will be failing to capitalise on the true yeast profile.

    Coopers Draught

Hey DAC I reckon that 10g of US05 is going to handle that brew with no worries

Coopers selling full kit & bits recipe packs with free postage.

As far as I know this is Coopers third all extract recipe of the month. Maybe they'll develop a partial mash recipe one day.

Coopers light malt recipe advice welcome!

I would have boiled the hops with some of the light malt prior to mixing the rest of the ingredients, boiling without malt may introduce a harsh bitterness. I have only ever added a hop tea to a fermented out brew twice, about 1 litres worth, it wassteeped and didn't increase the IBU. I'm not...

    Little Creatures PA Extract

I have tried to replicate LCPA 4 times. I have one kegged now and another keg that is next in line. The first was using the Coopers APA while the other three were all extract. The current brew is more along the lines of a LCPA rather than an exact clone: 1.5kg Coopers LME 1.5kg Coopers WME 250g...

    Pale ale / galaxy hops

Shot glass B) I like it. I always go with a bag but I did throw 25g straight into the FV once. After another week and a bit they settled out in the trub, and he bottler didn't block. Some hop matter did make it through though and considering that I now keg I'll continue to bag.

    Is my extract brew done?

Mate a small layer of grain that has settled to the bottom of your sample tube won't affect your SG reading. It will only be an issue while it is in suspension. I don't use finings but I find that two weeks in the FV sees most of the foreign bodies settling into the trub.

    Pale ale / galaxy hops

I love Galaxy too, but if I were Elderfi I would go with the yum beer option first. With all those hops you could do the pfs option next, provided you like the first one.
