Well guys, again thanks for all the help in getting me started . Kegerator arrived the other day in time for the kegs to go in.
First two brews were:
Boonies LCPA Clone and Dr Smurto's Golden Ale Extract.
Im hooked! Myself and my son had to have a taste tonight while the better half was at work.... :chug: For my first two brews im happy ..
IF MOTHER'S MILK TASTED THIS GOOD I WOULD NEVER HAVE LEFT HOME!!

Thanks VonScott. Im bloody happy. I think if you do your research, and learn from others ( especially from here ) its a good place to start.
As one guy said, Temp control and sanitization goes a long way to making a good beer...

Looks good Darrens. Question - did you get your kegerator form ebay or straight form keg king? How was the vendor's service and postage etc? If you dont mind me asking, how much did your entire setup cost (inc CO2 bottles lines taps etc)?

Alex, Got the kegerator from Cheekypeak brewery in Victoria. This guy gets rid of the plastic taps and you can upgrade to what you want. ( on their website)
The brand of kegerator is called ' WESTWAY' . Ive only had this thing going a few days but it gets nice and cold . Ive set mine to -2 celcius. Goes to -4 setting.
I got the standard font and upgraded the taps to Perlicks SS.
All up cost to the Central Coast ( just north of Sydney ) was $ 687 i think. This included $ 50.80 courier costs which i thought was great.
You still have to supply co2 bottle ( bought mine outright from LHB shop $200. You will also need gas lines. Beer lines come with it.

Mine is a Keg King from Brew by You in Moonah. I must have too much European blood cause mine is set at 5oC, and I reckon its plenty cold enough for a Lager or an Ale. I've got one of each on tap at the Mo, an OKtoberfest and an IPA.

VonScott, How are the stock taps on the one from brew by you? I was playing around with them last week (in the shop) and they felt plasticy (probably because they are made of plastic - duh). had any issues with them?

I am planning to upgrade the taps one day when I stop buying gran mills and servo motors. The taps are OK, they tend to stick if you go for a while without pouring a beer and sometimes the flow is a bit irregular, but most of the time they are OK. I've been using them, the Kegerator, for 19 months. The handles are plastic but they are still as good as new.

What about your wife? She's got a honey do list, but top of my list is to get this motor connected to the grain mill. Then I should have some spare time.
