liquid yeasts can sometimes take their sweet bloody time in starting (even with a starter) 24 hours isn't unusual for some of them. i've had several do this.

good job big d. i know its not quite the same level, but i did an ipa on sunday arvo, i tasted the sample and i think i stripped 5 layers off my teeth, only about 60 ibu's

thanks big d, might be easier when i move to my new unit, i'll have room for all :) they sorta advertise them coming up, oz.craftbrewer.org seems to have to good oil on when and where for most comps, and i'll expect us to clean up next year at all the comps :D

it goes better with lime, i think it helps to get rid of what ever that taste is. must be a mexican thing, need lemons or limes to go with thier drinks ;)

thanks Snow, and congrats as well. yeah should be intresting, i got my score sheet and only a few 'minor' flaws with the beer, so i'm pretty happy with that :) i wonder if i'm the only NT brewer to qualify for the event...

well, i've double checked to make sure, but i think i did well with my beer entry for qld, got me a 3rd place for national qualification (well thats what the email says) :) in the pale ale category. once i get the score sheet etc, i'll change it to what it won etc etc. i'll be flying the NT...

hi roach, my ramblings on the subject. what kind of chiller do you have? imersion or cfc? as that might help decide what size stand you go for. if you have a cfc, then you will need a large drop to use a gravity feed setup (unless you have a pump). a cheap option is to use the ground as...

and be careful when moving the fermenters etc (if full) , you don't want to much (or none) splashing as it might oxidise and start tasting like wet cardboard (done that more then once :ph34r: )

useless idea for the day, what about a wood turning supply shop or something similar. my uncle is into wood working etc and always has some weird bits kicking around the joint ... *bad pun sorry* or they might know of a place to get them.
