    Co2>krausen

Hi all, i put down a Little Creatures pale ale clone, and after i pitched the yeast there was never any significant krausen that developed, just a tiny layer of bubbles on top. The wort was properly aerated and i was careful with sanitation and temp(18c) and there was vigourous bubbling through...

How Often Do You Break Your Hydrometers?

I bought a $30 beer/wine/spirits hydrometer and it measures +6 in water, bought a aquarium hydrometer for $2 off ebay and it measures perfectly (and also has a thermometer inside!). I felt like a variety of hydrometers for a more acurate measure so i bought a couple..

    Schoffahofer Love

Hi, I discovered Schofferhofer when i was living in germany, and all their beers are nice, particularly the wheat beer. The honey wheat sounds nice, i havn't heard of a honey wheat beer before, how is it? would it finish a little bit drier than a normal wheat? +1 on the quote about not needing...

    Schoffahofer Love

good luck, you have chosen a great wheat beer to replicate and i hope it works out for you. I have collected the yeast from about 10 bottles of Paulaner hefeweizen and i will be trying to ferment a wheat beer with it soon :beerbang: . Let me know how your Schofferhofer clone turns out, cheers!

Anyone Had Any Success With Apricot Nectar?

There can be unforseen obstacles with fruit beers...i have only tried a cherry ale and it turned out ok, the only advice i would offer is to use real fruit and not nectar or anything proccessed, the bacteria and yeasts on fruit are usually beer friendly anyway, so there is no problem with...

    Recommended 3rd Brew?

do a wheat beer, (if u like this style of course) easy to brew, ferments out pretty quick, can handle relatively high temps, matures very quick in the bottle too. just get some liquid/dry wheat malt and a good wheat beer yeast like wb-06 and a fairly neutral hops or none at all(wheat beers arent...

Do Germans Have Any Idea About Beers?

my german buddies liken V.B beer to water. Trying bad beer is like driving through a ghetto; it makes you appreciate where your from(if you dont live in a ghetto).

    King Of Tart

Can you taste any 'raspberry flavour' or is it covered by the tartness? I brewed a cherry ale and used ALOT of sour cherries and the thought crossed my mind that i may have gone overboard with the quantities, but it has mellowed into a very smooth beer. Not sure if this applies to raspberries...

    Beer Palate

Drink alot of quality, varied beers. don't be afraid to experiment. i recently tried a rauch beer and although i thought it tasted like drinking beer through a bong, it's still experience under the belt so to speak. also, drinking v.b will not improve or expand your 'palate.' it will only cause...

I Sometimes Think Of Stopping Brewing !

Get rid of that photo of the empty glass on the bottom of your page. Either take it away or replace it with a glass full of beer. I believe this could be the problem. No worries.
