    8 Day Brew

I've got a golf trip coming up and at very short notice thought I might brew a wheat beer. Is it possible to brew a beer and have it kegged ready to drink within 8 days? I have a 'heat pad' which will ferment at approx. 25C which should speed things along. Fish

    Beerfest 2007

Thanks to all for the feedback - we will certainly take this on board. I must say I'm slightly bewildered by the negativity of some of them. As per a previous post the judging is being left to too few. We are acutely aware of this and very keen to fix it. If some more people put their hands up...

    Beerfest 2007

Hi Linz, I'll try to answer your questions as follows: Hows about relaxing the definition of a brew club???.................I believe we are looking to work with anyone who is willing to actively participate in the organisation / running of Beerfest. If your 'web-based' club is happy to do so...

    Beerfest 2007

Hi Ross / all - The committee discussed at some length the issue of entry fees and in the end settled for what we considered a minor increase ($5 to $6 for brew club members and $5 to $8 for Independents). As has been alluded to by 'bigfridge' the time, effort and costs involved in running such...

    Foaming Keg

I've got a keg of American Brown Ale that for the life of me I can't get to dispense properly and I'm hoping someone might be able to help. I over-gassed it to start with and was dispensing nothing but foam. :( I then de-gassed the keg over 24 hours and re-gassed using 'the Ross method'...

    Fridge Conversion

Sorry in advance as I'm sure the forum has many posts on this topic - I just can't find them! Can anyone point me in the direction of a post / web-site that details the steps in converting my beer fridge into a proper piece of brewery art, i.e. installing taps, drip trays, gas in for 4 kegs...

    Lead In Brass

So it appears I have simply created work for myself by 'pickling' my fittings - great! Should I just re-do them in the solution / scrub them clean? or does anyone have any simpler way of de-greening (technical term) them? Fish

    Lead In Brass

For the scientists amongst us. In the final throws of my all-grain set-up I dutifully set about cleaning all my equipment prior to use. One step being to soak my brass fittings in a 2:1 solution of white vinegar and hydrogen peroxide to remove any lead. I soaked everything for about 10 minutes...

    Carbonation Cap

Thanks Roach, I'll go and get those bits and pieces. Still a bit unsure re. how they all fit together and if I have to cut gas lines, etc... . Once I've got them in my hand it will make more sense. Does any one have a photo of such a set-up? I'm a bit of a visual learner. Cheers Fish

I want to use 2L PET bottles to take beer from my 18L kegs to parties, etc.... I have a few PET bottle tops fitted with tyre valves. After I have transferred the beer from keg to PET bottle can someone please explain to me how I gas these (note - I have a standard gas set-up for 18L kegs)...
