    Almost My First Big Mistake

:icon_offtopic: Hi Jase, I know this is off topic but when you run out of the oztop yeast, do you have to buy it from them or do you source the yeast yourself? Always looking for a way to keep the trouble and strife happy! Tribal.

    Cellarmix Forced Carbonation

Hi all, I have recently heard that beer (homebrew), carbonated with the co2 nitrogen mix tasted far superior than just the food grade co2. The downfall was that it took 2 weeks to carbonate. Is it possible to force carbonate beer with co2 nitrogen mix gas? Thanks in advance, Tribal

    Lower Brew Temps With Us05

Thanks guys, Probably just trying to find a reason for the taste in my beer I was not expecting. I now have 1 full keg, 1half keg and a 20 litre plastic full in the fridge. With a bit of stock in the fridge I think I'll brew today and not be afraid to leave it in the fermenter a bit longer...

    Lower Brew Temps With Us05

Hi All, Have been using Safale Us 05 for my last couple brews and brewing at approx. 18-19 degrees with a temp controlled chest freezer. I naturally assumed that ferment would take a bit longer than a standard ale yeast at hotter temps, but how long? Is 10 days about right? Og 1048 Fg 1012...

    Krusty Krausen

Hi all, I racked the beer below this morning and upon opening the fermenter lid there was thick large gooey bubbles about an inch thick covering the top of my beer. Straight away I thought it was an infection, but after having a closer look/smell/taste it seems fine. :D It almost looked...

56 Or 78 Litre Biab Pot?

Hi all, I have managed to find a place where I can get either a 56L or 78L Stainless stock pot pretty cheaply, and i want to use it for a BIAB setup. There is only 15 dollars difference but with a base diameter of 415mm vs 470mm I was wondering if the bigger one may be a bit too big for a 3...

    70l Stock Pot

Hi all, Just wondering if anyone knows where to buy a 70L stock pot at a good price? Also is there a big difference between using a stainless steel pot vs an aluminium one? Thanks in advance, Tribal.

    Coopers Bitterness

I've seen a post/link on here that gives the bitterness levels of each of Coopers cans, but can't seem to find it. Can anyone help? My old man is just back into brewing after a 30+ year break and has bought himself a Coopers draught can and a be2. He's fond of a Carlton draught and I'm trying to...

A Walk On The Wild Side

Hi all, Have done approx a dozen brews since starting, 1 has been toucan but the rest have been pretty standard with be2's, with very drinkable results. Tonight i tried something different and I'm a bit curious to see how other brewers think it will turn out. 1 can Coopers original lager...

    2can Going Nuts!

Thanks for everyones input. I reckon my temp might have been on the high side at pitching, which probably caused the foam job. I put in less boiling water to compensate for the 2 cans that were heated to get all of the goodness out of the tins, but it sounds like less is best for pitching temps...

    2can Going Nuts!

Hey everyone, :D Put down a 2can of Coopers lager ( 2 cans + only 1 of yeast supplied, to 23L) last night and this morning it was bubbling happily away. But this arvo when I got home there is masses of foam at the top of fermenter and pushing out through the airlock. Healthy fermenting is one...
