    Brew Stand Building Help

Thanks for the offer but I think I'm going to go with the slotted angle for ease. If that falls apart and fails I'll get right back to you though :)

    Brew Stand Building Help

That looks like the way for me to go. Easy to configure, collapse and change. Thanks for the help and references.

    Brew Stand Building Help

Looks good Argon. How did you mount your burner into that, and how did you cut the lengths? Do you have any larger images of it?

    Brew Stand Building Help

Hi all, Just getting back into more regular brewing and to get things going smoothly I'm finally going to invest in a basic brew stand. ATM I only want a basic stand for my boiler mainly because right now it's all I have room for. The problem is that I have no welding skills or idea where to...

    High Pressure Lpg Hose

Excellent. Didn't know of them. I'll give them a call first thing.

    High Pressure Lpg Hose

Hi all, I've been trying to find a replacement high pressure hose for my high pressure reg and I'm up against a wall everywhere I try. I have this reg and hose from Grain and Grape Which they don't sell anymore and even if they did they don't sell the hoses seperate to the reg. The problem...

    Boho Pils And 5.2 Stabiliser

Probably worth remembering that it's not the PH of your water that matters at all but the PH of your mash. I use Melbourne water which has a PH in the 7 range somewhere. I correct all my minerals for the style of beer and result I want then I use 5.2 to make sure my PH is correct. Calcium...

Protein Rest For Weyermann Bohemian Pilsener?

Weyermann do 4 different pilsner malts and only one of them is listed as being well modified on their website which isn't this one. I think it's safe to assume that this one may be moderately modified but probably on the high side of moderate. I've used the bohemian with a protein rest and...

    Wort Return For Effective Whirlpool

Thanks all. The hop screen shall be moved nearer the edge of the kettle. The wort re-entry path will be modified and a helping stir courtesy of the big brewing spoon will be added next time. I WILL get my cone.

    Wort Return For Effective Whirlpool

Yeah I figured the march wouldn't exactly cause maelstrom in the kettle but I had hoped it would be up to the job of centring the trub. I'll adjust the return so its forcing liquid back against the side of the kettle at an angle and see if that improves the whirlpool effect. I suppose when the...

    Wort Return For Effective Whirlpool

I've been using wort returning to the kettle for a while now to whirlpool and speed up the chilling and in vein to try and collect hot break in a lovely, easy to manage cone but I have yet to have much success with the latter part of that. When it comes time to chill, the immersion chiller goes...

    2200 Element

Probably been mentioned on other threads but how do elements reclaimed from old urns work out? I'd guess if it was a 30 or 40 litre urn it'd have an element that was capable of bringing that amount of water to a boil in reasonable time. Shandy

Plate Chiller - Chillout Mark Iii Vs Beerbelly

Yeah, I like the barbs too but the extra investment in quick disconnects and stuff kinda puts me off when I have most of what I need already if the chiller has 1/2" fittings. As far as sanitation of the fittings goes, I just recirc hot wort through anything that needs to be inline for 10 minutes...

Plate Chiller - Chillout Mark Iii Vs Beerbelly

OK, So it seems that the barbs are really the only drawback with the MM and for me that would really annoy I think. I have SS quick disconnects on all the vessels with the hoses fixed to the pump. The whole system works by unhooking and reconnecting the hoses in different configs so being able...

Plate Chiller - Chillout Mark Iii Vs Beerbelly

Thanks guys. I figured performance would be roughly the same and yeah of course it comes down to the temp of the water. I currently have a prechiller for my immersion chiller so I'll be using that and be able to pump pre chilled water through the plates for nice coolness. Which in Melbourne...
