Where is the temp probe and what do I try with it?

Is there anyway to be sure that I've left the hops behind, such as a mesh filter of some sort? Or is that unnecessary? I read mixed things about a short dip tube, mostly people being for or against it. I didn't get to read any explanations of why people are for or against.

Not sure if I'm hijacking this thread but the title seems to relate. I can't find any answers about dry hopping whilst cold crashing vs dry hop in keg. Also if dry hopping in keg, do you not carb it until you pull out the hops?

Yeah I have starsan solution in a spray bottle and pray 2-3 squirts per bottle before bottling. Barls, so I'd basically be leaving them in water, which would be relatively useless?
