    Got some chooks. Didn't even think about giving it to them. Would rather find a use that more directly benefits me ;) Think I might just try mashing it and see what I get.

    I've got a few kilos of crushed grain that would be around 6mo old. I've read on some previous posts that crushed grain doesn't last this long. But if I used it, what should I expect? Stale flavour? Poor efficiency? Should I throw it out or use it for something?

    What I mean is - there seems to be a lot of suspended yeast around the bottom of the vessel, which I wonder is affecting gravity readings. Not sure if this is possible.

    Still reading 1.020. There's no way that's done. I wonder if I'm getting inaccurate readings from the bottom of the vessel (drawing from spigot)? Might try siphoning some from further up.

    You'll need to adjust your calculations to factor in your smaller boil size (11L). Your boiling your hops in quite a syruppy solution, which I assume would affect what you're getting out of them.
