I was given a fermenter without a lid that I'd like use but can't find a suitable lid. It's identical the one pictured below and I believe it came as part of the older Coopers home brewing kit. Thanks!
Agreed, use clingwrap, a lot of people ditch the lid and use clingwrap in preference. You could always buy a replacement O-ring at big w or a home brew shop to hold it down with.
That's what I have rigged up right now but I was thinking it'd be easier on my buddy to have a lid for the fermenter when I hand it off to him as a parting gift.
By giving your mate a fermentor without a lid you are doing him a huge favour. It will allow him to bypass the time wasting period before the new brewer learns what a useless piece of crap an airlock is.
