Hi,
does anyone know if the Nomograph from Brisbane brewers will be coming back online?

http://nomograph.babbrewers.com/

Or where a copy of the java app can be downloaded.. ;)

It is a brilliant app, can't live without it!
So hard to play with water chemistry and salt additions now.

thanks
Bjorn

Had the same difficulty yesterday trying to get on. Seems that Babbs have a new web page and all links from there come up with the same :'500 internal server error'

As you say Bjorn it's a great site to work out and adjust water chemistry.

Hope it's back up soon.

Cheers, Hoges.

There's an issue with the site most likely related to some recent work by the hosting ISP.

The person who hosts the site has contacted them and is on it.

thanks, just checking as it it a very handy tool

All Babbs links are now back up except for Mash pH Nomograph. Same '500 internal server error' is showing.

Cheers, Hoges.

Seems to be up now.

Happy to see you guys are getting some use out of it :)

Fark, just posted on original thread that it looks dead to me, just tried

Just refreshed my browser and its dead :(

Ill get onto the webmaster <_<

Sorry for the delay guys, but just finally got everything back up and running. http://nomograph.babbrewers.com I just had to get some free time to look into it.

My host ISP did a shocking job at the transition to their new server infrastructure and I had a million broken things to fix. They did give me a hand to get things running again. That BABBs site is now fully functional again too.

Hi all,
the nomograph does not seem to work with the newest version of Java.
At least this is the case for me.

Fix: disable the new version, this forces your computer to use the older version where the Nomograph works.

In Windows XP, click on
Start > Control Panel > Java
Then click on the "Java" tab, click "View", then look at the versions installed.
Untick the top line so this version can not run, click "OK", and restart your computer.

(Your java versions page may not look exactly like mine, but on my computer it works when leaving the version called
1.6.0_07 enabled. You can see this in the screenshot, called "Product" )

Woohoo, again I can play with water additions :D

Looking at it, I also found that every time you run the application it downloads a cached version.
If the app works, you can always run it even when not connected to the Internet by in the Java Control panel going
to the "General" tab and click "view" under Temporary Internet Files. As long as the cache is not cleared you can use the app offline.

Thanks
Bjorn

Thanks heaps Bjorn, downgraded my java update back to update 17 and now the nomograph works a treat
