I have an 80L aluminium pot with 1/2" s/s ball valve and strainer fitted. It's pretty damn sturdy but is maybe in retrospect, a touch big for my single batch requirements.
If you are looking to step up to a larger pot for bigger batches, or even double batches (I'm pretty sure it's big enough) then I'd be happy to swap for your functioning 50L pot with ball valve attached.

I'm in Sydney and have no wish to travel too far to do the swap, so Sydneysiders only please.

Pot also comes with a spare strainer. (both are the braided s/s hose type)

Would a 50L converted keg suffice?

Cheers,

Clint

Forgive my ignorance, but that wouldn't have a flat bottom by any chance? I need to run it off my stovetop at the moment, so it would need to be flat.

Can you post a pic please? (I could mount an element in it I suppose)

Wow, you run the 80L pot on your stove? Just crank all four dials?

I know you said Sydneysiders only but I am willing to pay a courier to transport your pot down here and my 50L converted keg up to you with a NASA burner and stand + the regulator to attach to it. All you would need is a bbq gas bottle.

50L keg is good for single or double batches (a tight squeeze).

PM me if you are interested :icon_cheers:

That's one hell of a good offer!

I'd be taking him up on that if it was me...

Also the other thing to consider is, in regards to your other post at the moment, you asked some questions about whirlpooling....
A 50lt keg is the perfect vessel for getting great results from a whirlpool. The design of the keg makes it almost impossible to screw up a whirlpool.
I use a 50lt keg for my boiler and love it. (as do many, many other brewers)

Aww man, that sounds totally awesome and if we had the room I would jump at the chance. Sadly, I live on the 3rd floor and do my brewing inside. Small place = minimalist setup. :(

Gratuitous bump for those who weren't up late last night when I posted this....

No takers?
I'll take a pot anywhere between 45 and 65 litres, as long as it has a flat bottom I can sit on my stovetop.

I also have a 2200w element for this pot which I have not installed yet, so...
If you have a pot with an element installed and would like to swap, I can fit this brand new element to the 80L pot prior to swapping.

Pot is now swapped. Thanks for all the enquiries.
On a side note, guess I get to brew my first lager this weekend :)
