The above parts listing is about spot on. There is one of the heavy duty o-rings on the iside of the nut which has the o-ring space on it. On the outside there is a very soft, think o-ring which is deformed under the flange to give outer protection. In the future i'd prob ditch the outer ring, but i had it kicking around so what the hell.

The internal o-ring is a bit impossible to see in the photo, so that's good to know.
I presume a flat silicone washer would also work, but I have not been able to find them at decent prices.

I haven't seen a willow jerry on the shop shelves for a while. Used to be able to find them at the big green shed and Rays outdoors but searching over the weekend got me nowhere. Any ideas where they can be gotten from?

try supwrcheapauto. got one for 18 a month back. or bigw.

I pick mine up from k-mart

Big W FTW!

:icon_offtopic: Picked myself up one of the $20 stock pots too.

I just bought two jerry's from bunnings and they are the biggest pieces of crap ever! I'm taking them back and buying some willow ones from Kmart or BigW.

I've done this before but forgot to attach a tap, so I had to use a racking cane.

In stainless:
Hose Barb: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/290677130916?ss...984.m1423.l2649
Nut: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/LOCKNUT-1-2-NPT...=item43af16a7f8
O-ring: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/140767947262?ss...984.m1497.l2649
With that nut, I'd put the o-ring on the inside of the cap, so that it does not deform and squish out like in the photo above.

Thanks for those links, Wolfy, much appreciated. Have ordered two sets, should mean I can ferment that extra liter or two without worrying about the mess in the fridge.

Cheers Wolfy - makes perfect sense now.

Going to get two jerries rigged up in my wine fridge with a blowoff.

I've got 2 running in my bard fridge currently. Going to look at repositioning the light to free up some room - but it all fits!

Next is the B?O to keep it nice and clean in there.
