Hi all,

Just a quick question about a sick fridge. My fridge has decided to stop working now that the weather is getting warmer  . The compressor doesn't seem to be kicking in. It just makes a bad noise for a couple seconds then a click and cuts out. I'm guessing that's a safety of some form kicking in and stoping it from really dying.

Any suggestions on what might have died or things to try to get it going?

Thanks,

Dave

Maybe time to call a fridgo, or do what i have done and go around on Council Bulk Collection Day and try and find one that looks half decent and throw it in the ute at no cost. I'm sure you will find one that has been chucked out because it does not match the neighbours newly renovated kitchen Stainless fitout/cupboards etc!

gad,

could be something simple like the CCR not kicking in and giving the start winding a go, or a capacitor problem..
Get someone who knows what they are doing to have a quick look at it.

or, while you have it unplugged have a look around for either of these two parts looking defective. repeat, while unplugged.
