I cant belive no one has started this thread already. Beer Drinking and Cricket goes hand in hand so to speak.

So the first Test has started.

Haydens gone for 21 - No suprise there

Langers killing it, and Ricky "Punter" looks solid. Hope we nail the poms and get the ashes back to where they belong.

I have tickets to day 3 and 4 of the Melb test at the Gee on boxing day....any ideas how to smuggle in homebrew? <_<

Lucky we have a TV at work, but if i wasnt at work, i'd be at home pouring from the tap and watching B)

always found cricket played in Australia a little over-rated to be honest

Aust conditions seem to suit Aust the most, a bit like playing the Indians.

It's called home ground advantage, are you trying to tell us English conditions don't suit the English etc. etc? If you spend all your time playing in certain conditions then you are going to be good at playing in them...

I would actually counter and say that Australian, and actually many English grounds as well, play pretty much the same all the time, at least until the recent demise of the WACA as a fast bowling paradise, rather than being prepared to suit the home team so much as sub-contintent pitches traditionally have been.

You didn't see curators slowing down the WACA during the West Indies dominance, despite the advantage it would give them.

fents - brew a brown ale or stout and bottle it in 2 litre coke bottles.

Sounds like words of experience, Steve.

Fents, I started one yesterday, but in the forum this is in now, Off Topic. I guessed the mods would want to move it here. Personally, I think it should be in The Pub. That's what I talk about in the pub anyway. ;)

I still reckon Australia will walk it and today is confirming that so far. Why England picked Giles is beyond me?

Seems after nearly 2 days and the tail is wagging. I was hoping to see punter beat his highest score of 257 @ the G in 2003(Which I was actually lucky enough to be in the crowd for), But with a few Octoberfests and a quick switch to my cerveza and I am really enjoying this tail end smashing those crappy poms all over the park.

Best thing is that one of my bosses has been talking up the poms for the last month or so, and he is already hiding his head in shame, and it is only day 2. :)

Lets hope that the fat lady is already warming up and the poms are sent packing...

Cheers

Hmm, doesn't look like much of a contest out there... I'd have preferred it if it was a little closer... a couple hundred runs closer...
