Im planning a brew trip to sydney in the next month or two with a few mates. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a few micro brewries that we should head to and offer a bit of quality assurance?

I know that there is one in homebush, but does anyone know if the pumphouse, just near darling harbour is still open?

The 'Brewery' in homebush is not a brewery. Just a run off the mill pub - was when i was there last anyway.

Edit - Forgot about Paddys. The above refers to 'The Brewery' near the Novotel at homebush

There's a site out there somewhere with all the brewpubs listed, try looking in the new Beer and Brewer mag.

Here's a few in sydney for you to google.

Maltshovel brewery, Camperdown?
Red Oak Brewery, Clarence St
Lord Nelson Pub, The Rocks
The Australian Hotel, The Rocks (not a brewery)
The Macquarie Hotel, Goulburn St
James Squire Brewpub, King St Wharf

Have fun
Pete

Pumphouse has St Peters brewery brewing for them now.

The one at 'homebush' I guess would be Paddys, which is off parramatta road, right next to the markets.

Was a bit dissapointed in their beers last time I was there. The pilsner has that slight lichee flavour coming thru.

Had a quick beer yesterday arvo at the Maquarie hotel(goulbourn street) and the Pale Ale is tasting great, and I am not over the moon about cascade, but after drinking that beer I think I'll have to test my taste buds a bit more.
