Super Cool Big Rare Earth Magnets

I bought a bunch of little magnets for making stir plates with, but at the same time decided to get these:



Theyre 10mm thick, 50mm diameter. N45 rating. These are super strong, as in, I stuck them together without the separator, pinching my thumb giving me a large blood blister, then spent half an hour cursing and straining to get them apart again.
This hurts your hand after about 5 seconds:


Here the coupling isnt so strong:


The distance between them measures a little under 9cm.

Makes me think...two of these would just be scary!

My son got given a couple of the singing zipper magnets that he has listed. Very cool...

Is making a stir plate complicated? They certainly aren't cheap.

very easy to make wilda... see thread on tight arse stir plates .... i made mine in a few hours for about $15 if i had to buy the fan about $25... i used a fan from an old computer power supply

I had a bunch of neodymium magnets and used them to make a rail gun.

ME and a mate bought ours to make stir plates. they were abour 6 mm thick and as big as your thunmb nail.

We were at work plating with them through 3 inch thick benches an such when my mate had a brain fart.

He snuck up behing another workmate and clamped the magnets onto either side of his earlobe.

Do you think they would just come apart..........NO

His ear went red..... then white...... then started to bleed. He (the fella with the magnets stuck on his ear) ripped them off and they split his earlobe and it bled ofr an hour after.

many threats were made about calling an ambulance...... management...... workcover, all in fun the freak him out

We all respected the power of the rare earth magnet after that day
