just would like a great recipe for this kit .what hops and kilos to add .heard it is a great kit also i heard it has a great yeast with the kit ???. but also have a saflager S23 will use that if its better ?? thanks

I made this a few times earlier on when I mostly made kits.

I found it nice as is, without the need to add any other hops and used my standard mix of 500gms malt and 500gms dextrose.

If your going to use that saflager you'll need to brew cold at around 12c.
Do you have a temp controlled fridge?

I'm not sure how much of a lager yeast the one that comes with it is since it can be used at between 15c and 30c, according to their web site.

If you go to Morgans new, revamped website at http://www.morgansbrewing.com.au/, you'll see they've added a recipe section. There's one for BML in there. I know - cuz I put it there! ;)

I used morgans blue mountain lager for my very first brew on the advice of Grain and Grape. Used a kilo of Dried light malt extract with Wyeast 2112, California Lager.
Cal Lager yeast is apparently ok with ale like fermenting temps
Fermented at 19deg.
I was pretty pleased with the outcome, a nice drinkable beer.

With a bit more knowledge now I don't think would spend all that money on yeast for one brew, would make a starter for sure.

The Morgans kit comes with Mauribrew lager yeast that makes a quite clean lager at ale temperatures. I'd just use it as is.

i agree with bribie use as is (yeast that is )
1kg morgans dry ulta blend
300grms dex
hallertau finishing hops
this is one of the best kit beers around and simple as ,ive made it probably 20 times now and found it almost bullet proof
guaranteed youll love it :)

I just checked....

I'm sure their old website used to have a whole bunch of recipes as well and now it seems there are only two?

Must have started from scratch.

Yes, apparently they did. I think it's a bit more user-friendly and up-to-date.

Go to hbkitreviews.com
well loved for a quick kit , most go with ultra blend (coopers be 2)
although some recommend straaight dextrose is good enough I didn't like that combo
I'd go coopers be 2 kit yeast (keep under 15c it's a hybrid)
add some hallertau steeped for 15min (10-15gm)
the kit yeast is fine if kept cool above 18c it starts to get apple notes IMO
