Im still trying to track down the malt that gives the stand out aroma to the beers I really love.
The simplest beer I can find that has "that" aroma is Red Pig Mexican Ale.
A few people have suggested it is diacetal but it doesnt seem right to me.
It is a caramel and sweet aroma that turns up in beers of a copper or amber colour.
It is most noticable in Fullers Golden Pride, Kwak and this Mexican amber ale.. Red Pig.

What is this aroma from???
