UNfortunately I will not be able to enjoy a beer tomorrow with our diggers and former service men till well into the afternoon. Although I will be working from before the Dawn service and delivering others around the City so they can enjoy the services and Parades, that I must unfortunatly miss. So i figured that tonight I would stop and grab myself a few tasty beers to celebrate and remember those that have given so much before me.

Here is a sample of the little treasures I have come across for the evening.

That's a brilliant little set homekegger!

Youngs, so many memories, albiet hazy ones at times. Used to live just down the road from the Wandsworth brewery...

Landlord is one of my favourite beers.

This time last year I was camping on the last night of the Kokada Track after carrying 25+kgs (when some carried 40+kgs more) over the track, without getting shot at and we all wanted out of there after 8 days! Believe me, even though I would have loved one of my homebrews, the SP Lager tasted SENSATIONAL (as did the Big Rooster - yes for the Qld people they still have Big Rooster in Moresby!) the day after - increased my respect for those blokes rediculously. Have a beer in all our veterans memories - I personally can't imagine what they went through and we all owe a HUGE debt to them all.

Well I enjoyed All but one of them. I decided to save the TT Landlord for another night. I will admit I was quick happy with myself after them, although I did find the Bourbon porter a little overwhelming. Not really to my liking.

Best thing is I woke up fine at 4am yesterday, and was off to do my part for the day. Got on the beers at about 2.30 and then decided to finish my night at the Wheatsheaf in Thebarton. Had another couple of lovely beers, had a great Chat with Jade, one of the owners, and then purchased a few more beers for me to enjoy this weekend.

As happy as I am with the service and quality of beers that these girls sell, my hip pocket is really taking a caining. Oh well, you got to do what you got to do.
