whereabouts are you? you haven't put in your location.
iam not gunna add to this debate.
except to say if your extract versions are better than the comercial versions your allgrains will be to die for.

The reason I've moved from K+K to full boils (part mash / extract) is purely because the kits dont give you enough information!

If the can said:
"8 SRM, 20 IBUs when diluted in 23L water, goldings extract flavouring" or something similar, I'd use them more. Otherwise its pure guesswork trying to get a beer into the style you want.

K+K is fine if you want to brew your everyday ales, but if you're trying to get into more specialty beers (witbiers, kolsch, lighter belgians etc), its hopeless. I never use the kit yeast anymore though, liquid yeast is just too good! :)

I still brew the occasional kit now, mainly if I'm running low on full kegs :)

kook
the new grumpies pale malt hopped cans give you all this info.
you can get either 15,20,25,30 ibu etc.

Gee it's hard to throw crap at you blokes when you are so nice back.
Don't say a thing Batz, I know you're back there smirking.

or use the coops unhoped extract and add some grain and hops
