Man sentenced for stabbing friend in beer dispute

BEAVER, Pa. (AP) A man accused of fatally stabbing his friend during a dispute over who should buy more beer pleaded guilty to third-degree murder.
Leonard Johnson, 40, of Aliquippa, apologized to Douglas Brown's mother Monday before he was sentenced to eight to 18 years in prison in a plea agreement with Beaver County prosecutors.
The men got in a fist fight over beer on June 30, 2002, outside Johnson's home, and Johnson stabbed Brown with a kitchen knife, police said.
