Well today was the day to catch up with Bill and enjoy this fine gift.

This was a damn lovely experience. Mouth feel is solid and the body is broad and easy. It isn't viscous and certainly not syrupy. Aromatics are graced with chocolates and rounded coffee notes sitting along side the bourbon. It has a lovely nose, and left me inhaling to explore and savour.

The taste is bloody delicious. magnificent. A sweetness and a strength from the barrels. The palate alight for many tens of seconds with an elegant fade like the ring of an ancient bell.

As the bottle warmed for the second pour, the richer malty tones brightened and the bourbon became more aromatic. Totally within balance again but a slight character change.

I'm really glad I got your tips for the tasting.

Glad you enjoyed it. There's nothing like discovering a new twist on brewing for the first time. It sounds like this bottle delivered a number of new dimensions for you.
