Hey Guys just tried this one and have never made an oatmeal stout but my first impression on tasting was chewy. Like you could chew on it. Does thaat souns strange?? Recipe follows

Forget the thread put it down to a dirty glass giving weird taste its not chewy from a clean glass

The recipe sounds tasty.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by chewy... :huh:

But I'll give it a go.

When I made my first Oatmeal stout I did some research......I read somewhere that a "taste" could be imparted on the final beer with >10% Oats of the grain bill...

The consenses from all the reaearch was 5-10% only. Yours was 17%... Might be the issue.

I currently have one on tap that was 7% Oats (previously I tried 5%) and I think that I won't put more in next time...

If it's OT - brew a normal stout and blend...

Edit: Too slow.....Maybe I will crank up the Oats next time - How does it taste???
