Spork, if you don't make it, can I please have your smoker? Just reply in the affirmative to make a holographic will.

I don't mean to be insensitive, it's just that I'm keen to start smoking meats and yours seems like a good rig.

Thanks mate.

I hear its pissing rain up there at the moment and theres a warning out for flooding at the northern rivers.
Hope it clears up by Christmas time. I don't want my holidays ruined.
Feed for my cattle is more important than your holiday in crappy Yamba :p

lol, You'll have to fight Arghonaut for it, it's still out at his place

Any of you fellows been to Pebbly Beach campground in the Yuraigir nat park about 50 clicks north of Woolgoolga? One of the best campgrounds in NSW in my opinion. The creek crossing tends to keep out the weekend warriors. Its brilliant.

One of the best in Aus I reckon. Well best I've been to in my camping adventures. It's a great spot Phoney, that we can agree on ;)

Damn spoilt we are around here!

Carefull Phoney...you saying that beaches that are not associated with Byron are better...

Better grab a beer, this could get interesting

Yep. The trouble is that in the last couple of times I've been there it's been packed with bloody Queenslanders. If only they could find a way to keep them out it would be perfect. :D

There's a campsite just out of Taree that SWMBO and I reckon is just slightly better.

Yeh im hearing ya. The random weekends are the best, been there a few times and we are the only people or maybe one other group. But come holiday season, watch all the QLD noobs come down in Prado's with Overloaded Camper Trailers to go 'Glamping'.

Pebbly Beach camp ground in the Yuraigir National park is a top spot! love it and I really aught to go back soon, what's another QLD plate gonna hurt hey? :D

Byron Bay is a great place I reckon. I've spent many great trips down there, along with the hinterland for that matter. Nimbin is meh, but the nature around there is extremely beautiful IMO.
Surfing with dolphins jumping out the wave right next to me (at Wategos) is still a very fond memory of mine, another was my 30th, hanging out on The Balcony drinking chilli cocktails and having some great food.
Like any place, there are positives and negatives, you just need to go/do the positive stuff, e.g. Not going to the back packer bars, not hanging out in the main park with the alcho's etc.
For me though, Byron's all about hanging out at the better alternative restaurants, getting a relaxing massage, surfing, walking up to the light house or grabbing a 6-pack from a bottle-o and stringing up the hammock down by the beach.

Agree with Seehuusen here. It's easy to ruin your holiday, work trip or whatever by whinging about the 'bad' stuff you see there, but it's just as easy to move on and look for the places that are worth hanging out at.

Wategos has been a magical experience for me as well. Took my kayak out through the waves and was suddenly surrounded by 20 to 30 dolphins who stayed touching distance to my boat for the next 45 minutes, seemed like I was their mother/leader/best friend. Once one of those big organised kayak groups steered towards us they immediately pissed off. Got it all on video too.

They do that every year to shake them up and to keep the do gooders happy....its all about politics
