Guys,
Just received my Barley crusher & unlike the overseas version the one I received does not come with the solid base. I was wondering if anyone could post some pics or some detailed instructions on mounting / securing their barley crusher.

Cheers

Paul

It comes with instructions on making the base, well at least my one did?

Pretty easy, just need a drill and a jigsaw. If you're stuck i can take a photo or two of my base this evening.

damn. i was really expecting some funny weekend photo's of drunked brewers and their favourite mills.

My mill is a home made one but mounting a mill is mounting a mill if you ask me.

I started out with my mill as a hand driven unit (thaty didnt last for long with 10" rollers) and wanted the cracked grain to go into a bin as seen in the first picture.

I them made a 3 sided box out of craftwood to hold the mill up and so i could slip the bin in and out easily from underneath the mill.

the bit the mill mounts on just has a hole cut big emough for the cracked grain to fall through and is screwed on.

I then mounted a 1 phase motor on it and later added wheels to make it easier to move around

All you need is a bit of wood working skill and a couple of nice beers to make the job more enjoyable.

cheers

'twould be a "Bollocks Crusher" if it were improperly mounted.
And just pure perversion if it were "properly" mounted.

First time I tried to use my BC out of the box I tried to just "hold" it over a pail while using the drill to run the crank. Grain everwhere! :D

Lesson learned. A couple of $4 brackets and some woodscrews from bunnings saw me right. Pail sits on the ground underneath.

I bought a barley crusher near the end of October this year and it came with a base. Have they stopped that now?

Scott

Got mine only 2 weeks ago from G & G - no base.

When I checked I was told thats how they were imported now.

Cheers,

Craig

I bought mine in June. A hopper was included.

There was no base, but there was a template in the package.

I bought mine direct from the manufacturer. Has anyone bought direct and not had a base included?
