I'm still gathering some hardware info for my brew setup, and this may sound like a stupid question but;

Is it possible, and more importantly safe, to run more than one burner off a single regulator at the sme time?

I am looking at the turkey burner and reg from G&G. My initial guess is that is will be fine, and the only problem would be less gas getting to each burner. But better to be safe and check.

Looking at my four burner BBQ, it's a safe bet that the reg is suited for up to four burners, and obviously works with less burners running.

Is there anyone here using more than one burner off the one reg?

Hi Chad,
I run two "nasa" burners of the one HP regulator with no worries at all.
There is another guy on this forum that if I am correct runs three burners from the one regulator as he heats his mash tun as well, is it old "chiller" or more correctly "chiller" of old??? :D
I don't know the capacity of the burners you are getting but if you have doubts I would suggest for you to get an adjustable LPG reg from BOC or the like.
Safety wise is a separate issue and you would need to follow the correct standards for LPG plumbing and fitting.
During my brew day I actually only have the two burners running at the same time for a short period while I heat water for sanitising the chiller.
This usually occurs within the last 15 mins of the boil.
I hope this helps
Cheers

I agree with Dicko as well.I also run two burners off the one regulator.Plumb the gas line in properly and you will have no probs.I couldnt see any issues either running to three burners if you wish.

A quick Q regarding - plumbing your two burners - did you use std components from groups such as Bunnings or did you have to go to a specific plumbing group ie does your system used std gas ballcocks etc.

cheers

That was one other thing I had been thinking. I'm designing a B3 style vertical stand and wanted to run the gas pipe up the stand and have the gas control taps at each brew pot platform.

I used standard 3/8 copper pipe with the correct Gas thread tape ( not the tape you use for water fittings) for the thread fittings and standard compression fittings as needed. Braided hose is just a standard one purchased with the burners.
The copper pipe coming from the burner pictured goes to the other burner and is connected with the same copper fittings.
Test all the connections with soapy water or a gas detector BEFORE you light it up for the first time.
The same disclaimer applies to this post - No responsibilty etc etc!!
Please note. LPG can be dangerous.
Anyway a picture or two says a thousand words.

I used oxy/acetylene hose from the regulator to 1/4" stainless steel tubing running up the side of my brew stand to the burners. All fittings are swagelok. From a place that rhymes with lurk.
And shouldve done what Dicko suggested and tested with soapy water as i remember my first time on light up i had a few flames shoot out from a few of my joins.Makes you shut down the system really quickly.
Ive also installed a flash back arrestor in the line.Well worth the bucks and safety.

Appreciate the comments and pics - soapy water and safety advice definately taken on board.
