Has any of my fellow brewers tried to brew a beer similar to the Carlton dry lime infusion?

Do you simply add a lime essence to your brew? If so, before or after the fermentation and how much?

I've done a quick and dirty K&K with the Coopers Cerveza kit and 1 kilo of DME + juice of 1 small lime in the boil. The lime flavour was a bit too strong. I think 1/2 a lime would be better. IIRC I had to throw in some extra hops, Hallertau I think. Especially since there is almost nothing to the Cerveza kit.

If you want it drier, maybe use 1/2 kg DME and 1/2 kg of sugar.

Thanks for your reply
Wondering how long you boiled for? I brew from grain and usually boil around 60 minutes and thought I might add ithe lime at the end of the boil as I cant see any advantage in it being in too long. Any Thoughts?

5 minutes would be sufficient to ensure it's not adding any nasties.

As far as malt bill, as light as possible, 80% galaxy, 20% dextrose or sugar (again added with 5 minutes left in the boil). Mash at 62-63 and use a clean lager yeast at 10C.

Don't forget the salt! :icon_vomit:
