Good evening,

In the past I have had bad experience with Lager so I gave up. Due to my new found enthusiasm (and persuasive HBS) Im giving it another go. Now kegging, and understanding larger needs lagering, how long should leave it in the keg prior to tapping? I will be racking (7-10days). Any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers :icon_cheers:

Just a couple of checks

Are you using a good lager yeast? The HBS sell these.
Can you control the temperature at 10 to 13 Deg.C?

In my eperience these are essential elements.

If you intend to lager a larger, perhaps up to a year.

However if you wish to lager a lager, perhaps 3-6 weeks. B)

if you were to lager lager for a month or two at cold temps but i cant wait that long so most times i dont lager it just straight into the keg im not brewing for comps so i aint so fussy

try a cooper's candaian blonde/BH1,they recommend 6 weeks for bottle..if you doing all grain..i cant help..

Thanks all,

Its a Morgans lager with steeping bag. From what Ive read Ill leave in primary till SG stabilizes then rack with 200g LDM & Hallertau for 10 days then keg 6Wks.... Good plan? Any input would be great..

Cheers.
