Big thumbs up to the Kurri (coal fields part of Newcastle) nostalgia festival.
Took my grand kids for a look. Live rock and roll band, along with those that can doing the 50s dance thing (and those that can't Wife and granddaughter)
Loads of car stuff from restored VWs to supercharged T bucket hot rods.(over 100 cars and rods)
Good time for all from old farts like me to my primary school grand kids.
And no one asked for any money, no entrance fee, no charge for anything but food and drink.Pulled up to the car park and asked how much, attendant replied no charge, a donation to the rural fire if you like, that was typical of the whole thing.
Contrast that to the last bear wine and food festible in Newcastle (that was a rip off)
Hats of to Cessnock council. Job well done.
