Hi all. Just new to the site and it pretty good. I have a question and like some help if anybody can. I'm wanting to make my own jockey box but can't seem to find where i can buy the stainless steel coil or where i can buy it in lengths and make it myself. I'm Newcastle NSW. Any help would be great. :)

the price of a new setup is very cheap these days you might want to price all your bits up first then compare it to the new price

1st off welcome. there is a heap of excellent info on here - use the search function (above) & you'll likely find the answer already here. Hint - use the google option & also try "magic box" and "miracle box" as your search terms.

The reason I say that is you will find who on here sells coils (from memory members "Dicko ACT' & GMK get them from tile to time) & also details & pics of finished projects - I recall one where plastic beer line was used for the coil!

IMHO, I reckon you can't go past a cold plate. It always sits covered by ice / slurry so it doesn't get half exposed as the ice melts + the mass of the things I reckon make em more efficient. see http://www.aussiehomebrewer.com/forum/inde...showtopic=20102

if you can't get one here (they do come up very occasionally) your best bet is evilbay. Expect to pay $100-150 for a 1 circuit unit - more for more circuits. This is a fraction of the price you'll pay at Andale!
