Ok, i'm parranoid about hops blocking my plate chiller...

even with a whirlpool and hop screen there's still hop gunk getting though. I've had a plumbing y strainer in there and it catches a lot more hops than i'd like to see, only makes me wonder what's lurking in the plate chiller.

I only use hop flowers as a rule, due to this paranoia. I'd like to use hop pellets to broaden my options.

I've seen at a U-brew a filter, pre chiller that is essentially a bag filter, or hop sock in a canister...

Does anyone know of an inline filter for hops that I can employ in my setup?

cheers

I use a blichmann hoprocket, pre plate chiller. I don't bother with hop socks during the boil even when using pallets.

If I'm not using hop buds to filter my wort, I use rice hulls.

Have you thought about using a hop spider?

You can put some of your bittering addition into the kettle to help bind the trub, then put the remainder into the spider.

Easily made from some SS bolts and one of those fine veg/pasta steamers from any good catering supply store.
