Hydrometer Hits Bottom And Doesnt Float Up

Hi its day 6 anf it stopped bubbling 2 days ago. wnet to test with hydrometer to get reading and it sit right on the bottom..
The wort smell very fruity. Have i created some exotic vinegar!!.

First thoughts are hydrometer broke. have you tested it with only water in the tube ?

What is the reading when it sits on the bottom?
Is there enough height in the sample tube to have it sink to 1.000?

Did you tap off some beer into the tube? Sorry couldn't help it.

Regards to the fruitiness... what was your fermentation temperature?
