The track's changed a bit between those 2 clips.

Craig Lowndes has still got it. What was Jamie Whincup thinking passing the Safety Car.. :D

He reckons he could chop 5 seconds off that if someone would hold his drink

Hold my beer....

once done a hot lap in the works 4 1/2 tonne pantec Hino

4:04......******* thing screamed its tits off across the top and 2 wheeled out of the chase.

Had the chase on video but its seems to have gotten lost.

Many years ago...when in my 20's...I ( and several hundred other drunks ) walked the track on a Fri night..esky in hand

You have got no idea just how steep the cutting is....

Got back to the camp site at McPhillamy Park and thought I had died

Was great times...top of the mountain was very very raw...no place for a lady or a hipster....

Awsome experience does not even come close to describing it..

The bull rings with guys doing impromptu circle work with kero soaked flaming toilet rolls being thrown around was epic

Its all fun and games until someone up ends the channel 7 news truck and sets fire to it.
Then its a riot.

I still reckon watching the replay from inside his car...I am sure I saw a flicker of the left hand indicator from the safety car. Not tyhat I have any sympathy for the bloke, there's just something abouyt him that rubs me the wrong way. But damn, he can drive a race car. I think I caught a comment during the last bunch of laps after he got done where he did a quickest lap time. Nice to see the smiling assassin win though.

Closer to topic...years back when I was working for Water Resopurces up here during my cadetship, one of the blokes I went out with had been a rally driver in his younger days, and on the way to a job out in the scrub he decided to relive past glories on the dirt road to the property in the QG Dept Hilux ute....faaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrkkkkkkkkkkk.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had to throw me undies away.

I wanna be that helicopter pilot.... ah man that would be a sweet job
